If you fancy yourself as a bit of a grandmaster there can be nothing more satisfying than defeating a computer at chess. Champion Chess poses a really challenge, even for the most hardened pawn pushers out there.

Champion Chess is very simple to pick up and play. You're thrown into the action straight away and the game controls are dead easy. The large grid squares make it a touch-friendly simulation, though it's simple to move around using the keypad keys or directional buttons.

While it may look and feel simple, Champion Chess contains a very powerful chess engine. There's only one difficulty level and it seems to be set to super, super hard. Although there is an Undo function there are no hints or help in this one, so you'll need to have your wits about you.

Champion Chess isn't the most comprehensive chess game for mobiles. There's no start menu, it lacks a multiplayer mode, and you can't customize the board in any way. The graphics could've been better too, especially as some pieces (i.e. the bishops and pawns) look almost identical.

However, if you're just looking for a lightweight, no-frills chess game to play against a challenging AI opponent, Champion Chess is worth installing.

    "Not so good"

Not very smart AI, very easy to beat. When pawn come to the end of the table you can not chose what do you want instead... More.
